Imagine buying into an online poker tournament for a mere $5 and a few days later seeing more than $30,000 make its way to your account. That is exactly what happened to "Johaenski" of Germany at GGPoker.
The German bought into the $5 Mini Global MILLION$ event, part of the microMILLION$ series, and came out on top of a monster-sized 88,700-strong field to bank a cool $30,202. Johaenski's prize would have been even larger had they not made a three-handed deal at the business end of the tournament.

*Reflects a three-handed deal
The Mini Global MILLION$ featured a $350,000 guaranteed prize pool but the 88,700 entrants created a $408,020 pot that the top 4,600 finishers shared. $3,543 was the least any of the nine finalists could win, and that payment was awarded to China's "eegiieddy11" who busted in ninth.
"Ruibala" of Mongolia ($4,724), "bigwind666" of China ($6,300), and Brazil's "xelengolengo" ($8,402) were the next casualties, the latter scooping the event's last four figure prize.
Fifth place and $11,204 went to Vietnam's "Phapsu1368" before "AmadoBetista" crashed out in fourth place, a finish worth $14,941, leading to the final three players to pause the tournament clock and discuss a deal. Striking a deal was not surprising considering the payouts on offer and the fact these players only had $5 invested.
A deal was struck, and the pay jumps made less severe. The deal meant "Myskonvat" of Ukraine banked $23,554 for their third-place finish, and "YourOwner", who was the event's runner-up, turned their $5 investment into $28,194. However, Johaenski reeled in a cool $30,202 for their victory, all from a $5 buy-in tournament.
"pardgeorgios" Is $13.4K Richer Than a Few Days Ago
The Sunday Super Storm was another massive microMILLION$ event, an $11 buy-in that saw 15,695 players create a $158,833 prize pool, over than $57,000 more than the advertised $101,000 guarantee.
Like the Mini Global MILLON$ mentioned above, this tournament saw the nine final table members pad their bankrolls with sizeable scores; nobody took home less than $1,341.
The top two finishers must be delighted with their performances. Not only did they outlast so many opponents but they each netted five-figure prizes. "Yosemite Sam" fell at the final hurdle yet still collected $10,058 for their troubles. Champion "padgeorgios" saw their $11 investment swell to a most impressive $13,421.
