Kristen Bicknell, Partypoker Part Ways: 'It's Been a Great Four Years'

In a surprising move, Kristen Bicknell is leaving partypoker as an ambassador, the poker site she's represented the past four years.

The Canadian poker star announced the decision on Twitter but didn't give details on why she's moving on.

Bicknell praised her now former employer, stating that it's "been a great 4 years" working with partypoker. She continued by saying that despite stepping away from her ambassadorship role with a specific poker site, she will continue to "serve as a model for other women to play this great game."

Bicknell, who recently got engaged to long-time boyfriend and fellow poker pro Alex Foxen, will certainly have many sponsorship opportunities should she choose to go down that route.

Impressive Poker Career

The split appears to be mutual as both sides praised each other on Twitter. The partypoker social media staff sent out a thank you to the poker pro who worked hard to represent the site for four years.

"A big thank you from everyone at partypoker for your contribution over the last few years as a partypoker Ambassador. We wish you all the best for the future!" a tweet from @partypoker read.

Bicknell is now a free-agent in the poker sponsorship game, although she hasn't publicly said she'll seek out a new poker site to represent in the future. If another site signs her, they'll be getting the three-time defending Global Poker Index Female Player of the Year recipient and a three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner. The former partypoker ambassador has over $5 million in live tournament cashes, and many consider her to be the best female poker player in the world today, and possibly ever.

Last summer, she earned that third bracelet by winning GGPoker's Online Bracelet Series Event #44, $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, beating out 892 entrants for $356,412. Her first two titles came in live events at the WSOP in Las Vegas.
