Playing his favorite game — short deck — the great Phil Ivey has won yet another poker tournament, this one a $30,000 buy-in at the Triton Poker Cyprus series.

The Poker Hall of Famer outlasted a field of 38 entrants, including some of the best players in the world, to win $387,000, bringing his lifetime cashes up to over $38 million, according to Hendon Mob.

Also in Cyprus, Punnat Punsri secured a $2.6 million score for winning Event #8: $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event.

In total, six players cashed in the 10th event of the high roller series at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Spa, unevenly splitting up the $1,140,000 prize pool.

Taking sixth place was Daniel Dvoress, a Canadian who received $80,000 for his efforts. Tom Dwan, another advocate for more short deck games, busted in fifth place, taking home $103,000, his fifth Triton cash since May, which includes two tournament wins. Coincidentally, those were the first two live tournaments he'd ever won.

Mikita Badziakouski, one of the great young stars in the game, was the fourth place finisher, good for $131,000. Kiat Lee then busted in third place for $171,000, setting up a heads-up match between Ivey and Sam Greenwood, the second Canadian at the final table.

Greenwood, along with his brother Luc Greenwood, has become one of the top high rollers in the game the past few years ($26 million in lifetime cashes). But in the end, it was Ivey who came out victorious. In doing so, he won his third Triton tournament, all in short deck. Ivey wrapped it up by going all in preflop with kx

Fresh off an impressive 2022 World Series of Poker, which included a runner-up finish and nine total cashes, the poker icon is back to his winning ways. He won his 32nd career recorded live poker tournament dating all the way back to 2000, 10 of which occurred in WSOP events and three more on the World Poker Tour.

Triton Poker Cyprus has four more events remaining on the schedule, including Event #11: $40,000 Short Deck Ante-Only, which is currently underway and had 22 entrants at the time of publishing. The series will wrap on September 18 with Event #14: $25,000 Short Deck Ante-Only.

Entering the $100,000 buy-in Main Event, Punsri had some impressive results on his resume. According to Hendon Mob, he'd cashed for over $1.6 million lifetime, but was still seeking a career-defining victory. He achieved that goal in Cyprus with a $2.6 million score.

Punsri, who hails from Thailand, beat out 99 entrants, a large field for a six-figure buy-in tournament, en route to his first major poker tournament title. He defeated Wayne Heung heads-up to finish it off. The runner-up from Hong Kong received $1,825,000, quadrupling his career Hendon Mob results.

Wiktor "limitless" Malinowski, one of the top high stakes online crushers in the world, finished in third place for $1,210,000.

Henrik Hecklen busted in fourth place for $946,000, thanks in large part to a cooler he lost to Punsri at the final table. The eventual champion, who was the shorter stack at the time, had pocket kings, which held up against pocket queens. It was that hand, which you can view below, that catapulted Punsri into the chip lead, and then eventually into the winner's circle.
