Anthony Zinno won two World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets in the past few days, his most recent on Friday in Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. for $160,636. In doing so, he became the first player ever to win four WSOP bracelets and three World Poker Tour titles.
Additionally, the poker champion took over the WSOP Player of the Year race and now has a strong case for the Poker Hall of Fame, which he became eligible for this year.
Zinno won the H.O.R.S.E. tournament just three days after shipping Event #19: $10,000 Seven Card Stud for $182,872. He also has two other small cashes thus far during the 2021 WSOP.
The Massachusetts native is the first to win two bracelets in 2021 and has 2,127.07 points in the traditional WSOP Player of the Year standings. Dylan Linde, who like Zinno is also a WPT champion, is in second place with 1,676.01.
Setting the Standard
Just how impressive has Zinno been this past week and throughout his poker career? Not only is he the only four-time WSOP champion to win three WPT events, he also has over $4 million in World Series of Poker cashes and over $3 million in World Poker Tour cashes.
The only other players to reach that milestone are Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari, and J.C. Tran. Four all-time tournament greats, two of whom are already in the Poker Hall of Fame (Negreanu, Ivey).
Poker player Ryan Leng said he spoke with Zinno at the Rio prior to the start of the World Series of Poker. The now four-time bracelet winner told Leng his plans for the series.
Seventeen days into the fall festival and it's clear Zinno will certainly be a factor in the WSOP Player of the Year race.
Not the Only Past Bracelet Winner Having Success at 2021 WSOP
Anthony Zinno isn't the only multiple-time bacelet winner shipping titles at the 2021 WSOP. Chance Kornuth took down Event #29: $10,000 Short Deck for $194,670, his third bracelet.
Phil Hellmuth hasn't yet won his 16th bracelet, but he's been crushing it this month. On Sunday, he'll take another shot at that Sweet 16th in Event #31: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball. The "Poker Brat" enters the day second in chips behind Rep Porter with just 10 players remaining.
Hellmuth's 2021 World Series of Poker has already included three final table appearances, and he's on pace for a fourth one on Sunday.
