The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) returns to the Venetian Las Vegas this weekend, September 4-6, for what is sure to be another massive $1,100 Main Event, as is evidenced by a hefty $500K Guarantee.
As usual, MSPT Venetian will headline an entire series' worth of events held from August 30 through September 26. The MSPT tournament will feature a pair of starting flights at 11:10 a.m. local time – Day 1a on Saturday, September 4 and Day 1b on Sunday, September 5. Players will start with 25,000 in chips and play 40-minute levels. Late registration will remain open through 6:40 p.m. on both days.
The surviving players will then combine at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 6 to play down to a winner. PokerNews will capture the action from the entire tournament in our live updates.
The MSPT visited the Venetian back in June when the $1,100 Main Event attracted 2,790 entries over four starting flights, which offered up a $2,692,350 prize pool. That tournament was won by 63-year-old Harlen Miller of Bismarck, North Dakota who emerged victorious to take down the title and $367,801 grand prize.
A week later, the $1,600 Main Event saw 2,011 entries compete over a trio of starting flights for a $2,865,675 prize pool. Well-known poker pro Chance Kornuth topped the field to claim a $412,086 first place prize.
Others to capture MSPT Venetian titles over the years are Johnny Oshana, James Carroll, Landon Tice, Korey Payne, Bob Whalen, Eric Baldwin, and Linglin Zeng.
