Cary Katz is an American businessman and high stakes poker player who founded PokerGO, a streaming service that offers coverage of various high roller tournaments and World Series of Poker (WSOP) events. Katz, who almost exclusively plays high rollers, has won an incredible $34.5 million in live tournament earnings to put him eighth on the all-time money list.

Originally from Georgia, Katz earned his first tournament cash in 2004 at Festa al Lago II in Las Vegas, where he finished 24th in United States the $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship for $10,381. Five years later, Katz won nearly quadruple that when he finished in 159th place in the 2009 WSOP Main Event for $40,288, a deep run for the Georgia businessman.

WSOP and WSOPE Results

While he has yet to earn a WSOP bracelet or Circuit ring, Katz has done quite well for himself at the World Series with 49 cashes worth $5.2 million.

In 2014, Katz finished eighth in the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop for $1.3 million. Two years later during the WSOP's 2016 Monte Carlo One Drop Extravaganza, Katz finished fifth in the €1 million buy-in event for €1.6 million, his biggest WSOP score to date.

More recently, Catz finished fifth in €250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'emat 2019 WSOP Europe for €538,722.

WPT Results

Katz has also had success at the World Poker Tour (WPT), including taking down the 2019 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic for $124,200. On the same tour, Katz finished runner-up in the $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller for $228,000.

Those were not Katz first victories at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic. In 2017, he finished third in the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic $25,000 High Roller for $136,000.

Other Poker Achievements

Katz has also had success in other high rollers, including a first-place finish in the No-Limit Hold'em Super High Roller at the 2018 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure to earn $1.5 million.

Katz biggest score came during the 2019 Super High Roller Bowl in London, where took down the £250,000 No-Limit Hold'em event for his biggest career score of $2.6 million.

As of late, Katz can mainly be found playing inside the PokerGO Studio. In February 2022, Katz took down the $10,000 opening event at the Aria High Roller Series for $137,340, while he finished second in a $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event the next month at the US Poker Open for $269,500.
