RunGood Poker Series Returns June 8, Continuing 2020 'All-Stars' Theme

After more than a year on ice, the RunGood Poker Series has returned, and it's coming back to finish what it started in 2020.

Last year, "RunGood Poker Series: All-Stars Presented by PokerGO" kicked off with grand plans of qualifying players throughout the season for a 64-person "Pro-Am" event streamed by PokerGO at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. The idea was to give the average poker player a shot at competing on a big stage with select invited poker professionals, industry personalities, and celebrities. Half the field would be qualifiers and the other half would be the invited "pros."

Like most everyone else throughout the poker world and elsewhere, the RunGood team saw their plans dashed by the pandemic, but they're ready to pick up where they left off the abbreviated 2020 with “All-Stars Comeback Tour Powered by PokerGO.”

“The excitement of coming back to the felt and getting to finish what we started one year ago has the office buzzing," said Tana Karn, president of RunGoodGear.com and owner of the RunGood Poker Series. "The landscape may have changed but the heart and soul of the tour remains the same. Let’s finish what we started.”

Three Stops Revealed Thus Far

RunGood returns to the live felt June 8 at Jamul Casino on the outskirts of San Diego. The stop was a new one for 2020.

Now, it gets to kick off the 2021 season with the usual five days worth of fun, both off the felt and on, which has earned RunGood nation-wide acclaim and a pair of awards as the best "mid-major" tour.

Following that, June 22-27 will see an event held at long-time partner property Horseshoe Council Bluffs, located in Iowa just outside of Omaha, Nebraska.

The other stop scheduled at the current time is July 6-11 at Horseshoe Tunica in Mississippi.

Each stop will host a variety of events — individual schedules can be found here — capped off by a $100,000 guaranteed $575 Main Event with three starting flights that will be covered live by PokerNews.

The side events aren't to be missed as well, as they will allow players to accrue points toward a venue leaderboard. Both the winner of that leaderboard and the Main Event champ will qualify for the season-ending 64-player Pro-Am, scheduled for December.

More stops are expected to be added, but everything is subject to local reopening timelines, so it remains to be seen how the rest of the season will shake out.

Reigniting 2020 Beginnings and Refreshing PokerGO Ties

The 2020 RunGood Poker Series season laid out an ambitious schedule with eight stops in eight different locales in the spring season alone.

Obviously, those plans didn't pan out, but half of the events did play out fully, meaning several players won seats to a season-ending event that never happened. Karn confirmed to PokerNews that those players' seats would roll over and be honored for the 2021 edition of All-Stars.

Furthermore, RunGood's continued partnership with PokerGO will build on recent successes that started with the spring 2019 "Showbound" season in which two qualifiers won $5,000 seats to "Poker After Dark."

All-Stars Comeback Tour seeks to expand that big-stage feel being offered to a few dozen players rather than just two, for the $550 season-ending event.

“Following the success of ‘Showbound’ in 2019, we’re ready to raise the stakes and highlight more heroes from the RunGood Poker Series,” said Mori Eskandani, president of Poker Central. “We’re excited to welcome ‘All-Stars’ from across the country to the PokerGO Studio to compete on poker’s greatest stage in the RGPS: All-Star Pro-AM this December.”
