The World Series of Poker (WSOP) recently wrapped up its Summer Online Super Circuit, which catered to players in Nevada and New Jersey. The series was scheduled to include 18 events, but after one was cancelled, it would up awarding 17 gold rings.
Among those to win rings during the series were Gary “phil_ivey” Kosakowski, Chris “Basile28” Basile, Mitch “paltexnj” Garshofsky, and Demetrios “GOGGINS” Petrou, who won the biggest prize of the series after taking down the $2,000 buy-in Event #13: $100,000 GTD Super High Roller for $54,233.
Also winning a ring was Matt “RubberFist” Stout, who bested a 134-entry field to take down the $500 buy-in Event #5: $50,000 GTD PLO Big $500 6-Max. Not only did Stout win $13,955, but he also claimed the sixth gold ring of his career.
Similarly, bracelet winner Steve “gborooo” Gross was victorious over a 197-entry field in the $1,000 buy-in Event #6: $100,000 NLH High Roller 6-Max, good for $39,245 and his first gold ring.
Finally, Ryan “hagzzz021” Hagerty also won his first gold ring by topping a 398-entry field to win the $320 buy-in Event #7: $75,000 NLH 6-Max for $22,925.
All those who captured gold rings are now eligible for the year-end $250K GTD WSOP Online Circuit Championship. There are multiple ways a player can become eligible for that event:
- Win a WSOP Gold Ring Event during the 2021 season
- Win a $10,000 Player of the Month Leaderboard
- Win a Second Chance Fast Forward Be one of the top 50 players on the Cumulative Circuit Leaderboard who are not otherwise eligible (50)
David Nodes Wins Main Event
The final tournament of the series was the $525 buy-in Event #18: $250,000 GTD Main Event, which attracted 423 players who rebought 256 times. The 679-entry turnout generated a prize pool of $339,500 that was paid out to the top 100 finishers.
Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Nancy “TheReader23” Martin (10th - $4,277.70), Shaun “Goodycakes” Goodman (18th - $2,512.30), Dan “feeltheflow” Sindelar (31st - $1,833.30), Ryan “im.sorry” Torgersen (41st - $1,459.85), Jonathan “Art.Vandelay” Dokler (53rd - $1,256.15), and YK “LuckySpewy1” Kwon (63rd - $1,154.30).
