Lev Gottlieb Wins Two GG Spring Festival Events in One Day!

2023-04-08 14:08:34

Most poker players would be content with winning a single GG Spring Festival event. Lev "LevMeAlone" Gottlieb is not one of those players. Gottlieb not only won the $10,300 Super MILLION$ event for $586,074, he took down the $10,300 Super Tuesday for $320,729 on the same day!

The 312-strong Super MILLION$ crowd were whittled to the final table of nine on April 3, with those nine players returning to the action at GGPoker on April 6. Gottlieb held the chip lead as the final table shuffled up and dealt, but he still had a lot of work ahead of him to take the tournament down.

Aliaksei Boika fell in ninth-place at the hands of "ILUCKuHARD" before Andrea Datobusted in eighth-place and collected the final five-figure prize of the tournament.

Argentina's Damian Salas 10 big blind three-bet all-in with pocket nines did not go to plan because Pedro Garagnani looked him up with the superior pocket tens. Game over for Salas.

The final table became a little less shark-infested when the dangerous Christian Rudolph ran his ace-six into the dominating ace-queen held by Juan Pardo Dominguez. Rudolph's Spanish executioner could not put those chips to good use because he was the next player out of the door.

Each of the remaining four players locked up a quarter of a million dollars and were only three bust outs away from more than $580,000.

Jordan "PiePie" Cristos bowed out with pocket sevens against Gottlieb's nines, and heads-up was set almost immediately after when ILUCKuHARD ran a triple barrel bluff against Garagnani only to discover his opponent had turned a straight.

The chip stacks were quite even going into heads-up, but Gottlieb won the key hands and soared into the lead. The final hand took place at the 175,000/350,000/45,000a level, and saw Garagnani open-shove for 3,267,450 with queen-jack. Gottlieb woke up with aces, and made the easiest call of his career. Garagnani improved to trips by the river, but Gottlieb's aces turned into a full house. Victory number one was secured.

Gottlieb Takes Down Second $10K Event of the Evening

The $10,300 Super Tuesday attracted a field of 141 entrants and it only took 9.5 hours to see all but one fall by the wayside. Gottlieb was the last person standing once again.

As you can imagine, the final table of this tournament was just as stacked with talent as the Super MILLION$ he won earlier. Fabrizio Gonzalez crashed out in ninth place, and "QuantumKey" of Croatia and the in-form Joakim Andersson followed suit.

Shawn Daniels's exit in sixth-place secured him a $76,057 payout, with David Peters netting $101,423 when he slipped up in fifth.

Christian Rudolph, who earlier finished sixth in the Super MILLION$ for $159,780, scooped an additional $135,250 here when his tournament ended abruptly in fourth.

High stakes guru Timothy Adams bowed out in third for $180,359 to leave Joao Vieira and Gottlieb heads-up. Gottlieb clinched the title and the $320,729 top prize, leaving Vieira to walk away with $240,513.
